Editorial Policy

Treatment articles are written by editors trained on medical content standards, based on current medical sources, and reviewed by the DoctorVi editorial team before publication. We rely on:

• Peer-reviewed medical literature (PubMed, Cochrane).
• Guidelines from recognised bodies (WHO, ESMO, AAOS, ESPRAS, RKI).
• Statements from national medical associations.
• Contributions from specialist physicians, where available.

Each article cites at least one primary source where applicable. Anecdote and personal opinion are presented as such — never as medical fact.

Treatment articles are reviewed by the DoctorVieditorial team against current medical sources before they go live. When an article has additionally been signed off by a named medical reviewer, that reviewer's specialty is matched to the topic (e.g. a plastic surgeon for rhinoplasty content) and the reviewer's name and review date are shown on the article.

Doctor responses inside "Ask a doctor" sections are written by the listed doctor. We do not edit the medical content of those replies; we only check formatting and obvious safety issues.

Some article drafts and chat replies are produced with the help of AI tools. Any AI-assisted text is checked by a human editor or reviewer before publication. AI tools are never used to fabricate study citations or invented authorities. Generated answers in patient chat are clearly marked when they have not been reviewed by a clinician in real time.

How we earn money — clearly stated: partner clinics pay a listing fee and per-message fee to receive patient-initiated requests. We do not earn commission on treatments paid by patients to clinics, we do not accept payment for positive review placement, search ranking, article tone or removal of negative references.

Where a content piece is paid for or sponsored by a clinic, it is visually marked as "Sponsored content" on the page itself and is excluded from organic ranking. The sponsor has no editorial control: they cannot edit the article's factual statements, remove unfavourable references to themselves or competitors, or influence reviewer selection.

Reviewer assignments are made by the editor-in-chief. Reviewers disclose any direct or indirect financial relationship with the clinic or product under review; an active relationship disqualifies the reviewer for that specific piece.

Articles are reviewed at least once every 12 months and updated when:

• New clinical guidance is published.
• A reader reports a factual issue.
• An expert reviewer flags new evidence.

The last-update date is shown on every article.

Suspected inaccuracy or harmful content can be reported to [email protected]. We aim to acknowledge reports within 48 hours and resolve them within 14 days.
